Unicorns Oldstar Game from September 22, 2024
On a beautiful fall day, the active Unicorns and the Unicorns Oldstars got ready for their annual game at the Rony Field of Dreams. As always bragging rights for the next year were on the line. After a good warm-up, including wet feet from the dew, the teams were ready. Umpire JJ opened the game with “Play Ball!”
The Oldstars, as guests, were first on offense. Lead off Fabian Wiget was able to reach first base with a soft hit. After a fielder’s choice during the at bat by Simon Weisskopf, Fabian was the first out of the inning. In the first inning, Simon scored the Oldstars’ only run with a stolen base and two wild pitches.
The Unicorns had Martin Bosshard as their starting pitcher and Giw Razavi was the eyes behind the plate. The active Unicorns were able to score several runs with good hits and a few errors by the Oldstar defense.
In the second inning, the Oldstars got over their initial nervousness and scored nine runs. In addition to various walks, the two nice hits by Fix Bicker and Christian von Ah contributed to this.
The next innings were more in the hands of the active Unicorns again and they were able to score runs continuously, which the Oldstars did not manage so well. However, this was not due to the solid pitching of Kevin Bicker of the Oldstars. As a result, the last inning was exciting again and the Oldstars finally won the game 12:9. The subsequent Unicorns Party was a complete success, with great conversations and delicious burgers. The Oldstars would like to thank you for a totally successful day!
